Mural painted as final project for "Scenic Painting" class at University of California, San Diego. 1997 Mural size approximately 3.5 feet by 8 feet

This was my first large scale painting, done as my final assignment at UCSD. The class was a lot of fun, and focused on quick and simple techniques to make sets look good enough from 30+ feet away (theatrical sets are not viewed up close, and time is very limited with most theater production). I based this image on several paintings and photographs. It is handy to paint on a canvas sepparate from a wall, because it can be moved around.  This particular piece was not made to be site specific, but I have put it up everywhere I've lived since I graduated from college and still enjoy looking at it.
