2005 Halloween costume

Costumes

I have made quite a few elaborate halloween costumes in the past few years (when I have time). I enjoy being non-human for Halloween---this is probably because I dress up often enough other times of the year in peculiar or fancy clothing that Halloween is a good excuse to be less like me.

I made jointed wings that could be attached at hands, or hung from shoulders
and had fun making the big talons (they make a good scraping and clicking sound when I walk).

OOPS!I don't have good pictures for all of the costumes yet...sorry

It was a fun interactive costume: I had a little Poloroid camera that took mini-photo sticker pictures, so I could take $1 through a slot in the front of the costume (exact change only!), take the picture and give the picture through a different little slot in the front of the costume. I didn't manage to hook up sound to play some cute song that would be appropriate to a Japanese photo sticker booth

After the Musicians of Bremen costume (2000), I wanted something easy to walk around in.

I don't recall the inspiration for this one, but I was all of the characters from the German folk tale. At one point in the story, the four characters, a donkey, dog, cat and rooster pile up on top of each other to look in a window and this image is the representative depiction of the folk tale. It was a challenge to sit in and not good for walking long distances in.
