Myself

I am:
a woman
mixed race of 5th generation Chinese American and English-Scottish-Irish-French-Dutch-German
a 3rd generation Berkeley resident
a treehugging pacifist
reluctant to live too far from the ocean
allergic to cats and alcohol among other things
a Leo, born in the year of the Rabbit (or Cat by the Vietnamese zodiac)
not vegetarian and not on a diet

I am many things, but I think I most personally identify myself as an artist.
Creating art is the means by which I interact with my surroundings. It is how I allow my curiosity to explore new things I encounter, how I question the things that happen around me, how I express my own ideas, how I consider more deeply who I am and where I fit into this world.

I am predominantly a sculptor, working in a variety of media. I have some background in theater-design arts (costume, scenic painting & murals, lightingÉ), studied video and computer arts, participate in small local public chalk art events and am a working artist in sculpting and crafts production. I have always incorporated some amount of scrounged materials into my work because salvaged materials are affordable and trash is endlessly in supply.

Not all of my art is easily recognized as having rescued garbage, as I find it is important to remind people that a lot of rescued "trash" doesn't need to look trashy. My use of trash is more than just an incidental part of my creative process and I have begun to emphasize my use of salvaged supplies in order to share my views. I hope my trash art will change the way people view "trash", not only in the physical augmentation of salvaged junk into art, but in helping people see that the cheap materials and " disposable " objects of our daily lives have usefulness which extends beyond a single use.

If you feel unsatisfied with that, then maybe you can get more from my cv or perhaps you can try VIRTUALAIMEE
